BABY SAFE

Making the best decision

Choosing the right paint for your baby's cot could be the difference between giving them a healthy childhood and with health problems, such as breathing problems and skin rashes.

This is because conventional water-based paints – even those marketed as 'eco-friendly' - typically contain compounds called PGEs (propylene glycol and glycol ethers) which scientists have shown cause substantially higher rates of asthma, stuffy noses and eczema in children who are regularly exposed to them.

BLOOM paints, on the other hand, have been specifically developed to be free of all harmful chemicals and are designed to be kind to young babies who will be sleeping in the cot for months and often gnawing and chewing at the surface, especially if they are teething.

Paint fumes are not OK

A key difference between the BLOOM range and conventional paints is that BLOOM paint does not give off any fumes when applied. That’s because, unlike standard paints, BLOOM contains no toxic chemicals called VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

It is VOCs that are responsible for that paint smell. These emissions are harmful and cause dizziness and nausea in young children.  In worse cases they have been associated with cancer, and liver kidney damage, and damage to the central nervous system.

BLOOM antibacterial properties keep babies safe from germs

Another crucial factor in why BLOOM is the perfect choice for parents, is that is has been developed to be antibacterial and easy to wipe down – ideal for cot paint and essential in preventing your child from picking up nasty stomach bugs or worse.

It is fully certificated and proven effective against ALL known bacteria (even antibiotic-resistant strains) including those that cause sickness, diarrhoea, meningitis, MRSA and salmonella.

The unique antibacterial additive used in BLOOM paint kills bacteria on contact, making it harder for mould and fungi to establish.

It is only natural you want the best for your young child and when it comes to cot paint the best for health is BLOOM.
